Ask Atkins provides assistance to students, faculty, and staff at four service desks and via live chat, email, phone, and text. Atkins roamers also provide point-of-need help throughout the building.

Atkins Roamers meet patrons wherever they are in the library to answer questions or provide assistance. Roamers are easily identified by their bright green Ask Atkins t-shirts and lanyards. If you have a question, find a roamer.

 

Desks

  • The Circulation Desk (1st floor) is the main public service point for locating, lending, renewing, and returning library material including: laptops, Interlibrary Loan items, and Course Reserves material.
  • The Research Help Desk (1st floor) is a safe place where librarians provide face-to-face, comprehensive assistance with all stages of the research process. Next door, the LibLab is a space where library faculty and staff offer workshops on a variety of research topics.
  • The Special Collections & University Archives Dalton Reading Room (10th floor) is where you can get reference assistance or learn more about how to use our rare and unique collections, many of which are related to the history of our campus and the City of Charlotte.
  • The Technology Support Desk (2nd floor) offers assistance for all of the library’s technology services, including the Makerspace, Visualization Lab, and Multimedia Production.
