Library Instruction

Library Instruction

The purpose of library instruction is to enhance learning and integrate information literacy into the curriculum. Teaching librarians help students learn to search, read, think, and contribute in an engaged and iterative research process.

In addition to meeting with students to teach information literacy and research skills, our instruction services include:

  • Online, web-based tools targeted to your particular discipline or course
  • Collaboration with instructors to design research assignments and class activities that make the best use of library resources to ensure student success
  • Faculty workshops to provide ideas for instructors to incorporate research skills throughout a course

Contact Catherine Tingelstad, Instruction & Curriculum Engagement Coordinator, or your subject librarian for information about these opportunities.

If you are interested in utilizing materials from Special Collections and University Archives in library instruction, please contact Randi Beem, Instruction Librarian/Archivist.
