Faculty Proxy Privileges

Proxy privileges will be granted to Graduate Assistants, Teaching Assistants, Research Assistants, and Departmental Secretaries upon written request (electronic or paper) by a faculty member. Proxy privileges will allow the assistant or secretary to check out material or place interlibrary loans requests in the name of the faculty member. The faculty member is responsible for monitoring all materials checked out by the person to whom privileges have been granted in his/her name and for seeing that these are maintained in good standing with the library.

The Faculty member who requests such privileges for his/her assistants or secretary is responsible for the return of any borrowed materials and/or for the replacement cost of such material should it be returned in some kind of damaged condition or not at all.

Students with Disabilities Proxy Privileges
Students with disabilities may grant proxy privileges to another designated user upon request in person at the Circulation Desk, written request, Web application, or through the request of the Office of Students with Disabilities. Proxy privileges will allow the designated person to check out material in the name of the student with disabilities. The proxy will not be able to check out any material to which the requesting student doesn’t have original access.

Rules

  • Proxy privileges are not transferrable.
  • Any fines attached to items checked out by the proxy will be under the faculty member's library account. All correspondence associated with the library items will be sent to the faculty member.
  • Please allow up to 24 hours for proxy privileges to be set up once the request is made.
