The Goldmine Repository at UNC Charlotte

The Goldmine is a digital repository under development at J. Murrey Atkins Library, UNC Charlotte. The Goldmine features oral history interviews digitized as part of the project Living Charlotte: The Postwar Development of a New South City. We plan to add more digital resources that document the history and culture of our university and the Charlotte region, including: additional oral history interviews, manuscripts, university records, publications, photographs, maps, moving images, and other selections from Department of Special Collections.

Built on the Islandora platform, The Goldmine serves as a digital repository for both the long-term preservation of digital resources and access to them.

The Goldmine team includes:
Maggie Bailey, Software Developer
Rita Johnston, Digitization Production Librarian
Joseph Nicholson, Metadata Librarian
Derek Norton, Software Developer
Bob Price, Assistant Dean for Technology & Digital Strategies
Dawn Schmitz, Associate Dean for Special Collections & University Archives
Brad Spry, Software Developer/Architect

Every prospector dreams of finding a goldmine!
