1974 Sebring at Road Atlanta
The images in this collection document the 1974 Sebring at Road Atlanta, an IMSA event that was held at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia, on April 21, 1974. Previously and later known as the 12 Hours of Sebring and held at the Sebring International Raceway in Sebring, Florida, the race was initially canceled due to the fuel crisis brought on by the OPEC oil embargo. It was then rescheduled as a shorter event at Road Atlanta after the oil embargo ended in March 1974. The race was the first championship endurance racing event held at Road Atlanta. Driving a Porsche, Al Holbert and Elliot Forbes-Robinson--featured in several images in the collection--finished first. The collection includes images of a related event involving Formula Super Vee automobiles held at the same track.
