Gaming Lab Policy

Gaming Lab

The Gaming Lab is located on the second floor of the J. Murrey Atkins Library next to the Technology Support Desk. The lab consists of three gaming stations equipped with an Alienware gaming PC, an Xbox 360, and a PlayStation 4 Pro. Games, controllers, and headsets for use with the consoles are available for checkout at the Technology Support Desk between 8:00am - 10:00pm, Monday - Friday. Students may also bring their own games and accessories to use in the lab if they prefer.

For a complete list of our games, please visit the Gaming page of our Area 49 LibGuide.

Hours

The Gaming Lab is open whenever the library is open, but games, controllers, and headsets are only available for checkout when the Technology Services Desk is open. Visit the library’s hours calendar for updated Technology Services Desk hours.

Using the Gaming Lab

A limited selection of games, controllers, headsets, and other accessories for use with the gaming stations are available for checkout at the Technology Support Desk during regular operating hours listed on the calendar. During non-operating hours and on the weekends when the desk is closed, you may bring personal games and accessories to use in the lab. Atkins Library will not be held responsible for personal games or equipment left in the area or in the gaming consoles. For the complete inventory list visit the Gaming page of the Area 49 LibGuide.

Priority use of the Gaming Lab is reserved for research and academic purposes; however, when the lab is not in use for course-related activities, students are welcome to use the lab. The library reserves the right to cancel a reservation at any time.
