Technology & Equipment Lending Policy

The J. Murrey Atkins Library offers lendable technology available at the Technology Support Desk located on the second floor. The desk is open from 7:30am–10pm, Monday through Friday, and 11am-7pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

The following technology and equipment is available to students, faculty, and staff:

  • Audio/Visual Equipment (Cameras, Microphone Kits, Audio Recorders)
  • Apple iPad Minis

Technology and equipment lending is subject to the Library’s general Circulation Policies; you must review these policies, in addition to those found here, prior to checking out technology and equipment.

Borrowing Technology & Equipment

Technology and equipment must be checked out and returned to the Technology Support Desk. Items must be returned to the Technology Support Desk at least 30 minutes prior to the desk’s closing.

The Library is not responsible for personal data (images, documents, applications, recordings, etc.) that is left on returned items. Transfer all personal data before returning items to avoid lost and/or deleted information.

When borrowing iPad Minis, there is a four-hour wait time between checkouts by the same patron.

Fines and Replacement Costs

Overdue fines are $1.00 per item per hour. All items must be renewed in person prior to or at the time items are due to avoid late fees.

Technology support staff work to ensure that all technology and equipment is made available without missing or broken parts. By checking out an item, you accept responsibility for broken and/or missing parts while the item(s) is in your possession. Borrowers are held accountable for the cost of missing parts and/or the replacement cost of lost or damaged items.
