In order to maintain a facility conducive to study and research, library patrons are required to refrain from the following activities:

1. Stealing, defacing, mutilating, or destroying (or attempted destroying) of library materials, buildings, property, or equipment. NCGS 14-398 and 14-455, UNCC policy #66 (computers), UNCC Code of Student Responsibility Standards G, K, and L, Library Policy 6.7.1.
2. Smoking or using tobacco products, e-cigarettes or other vapor devices. UNCC Policy Statement #68, Library Policy 7.2.1.
3. Concealing of library materials, property, or equipment (or the attempted concealing of library materials, property, or equipment) within the library for the exclusive use of an individual or group or to circumvent library procedures. NCGS 14-398, UNCC Code of Academic Integrity Standard E.
4. Disrupting behavior which disturbs library use (including rowdiness, noise, and offensive sexual behavior). NCGS 14-132, NCGS 14-288.4, NCGS 14-190.9, UNCC Policy Statement #58, UNCC Code of Student Responsibility Standards D and S.
5. Harassing (either verbal or physical) of library patrons or staff. NCGS 14-277.1, UNCC Policy Statements #61 and #95.
6. Being in unauthorized area, including refusing to leave at closing time, during drills or emergencies, or when asked to do so by a library staff member. NCGS 14-159.11-14-159.14, NCGS 14-288.4, UNCC Code of Student Responsibility Standards M and Q.
7. Failing to provide valid identification when requested to do so by a library staff member. UNCC Code of Student Responsibility Standards H, I, and M.
8. Bringing in animals other than guide dogs. UNCC Policy Statement #43.
9. Littering. NCGS 14-399.
10. Soliciting, including soliciting for donations, business, or signatures on petitions. UNCC Policy Statement #21.
11. Distributing or posting flyers, posters, etc., without approval of the library staff. UNCC Policy statement #21.
12. Stealing personal property in the library. NCGS 14-72, UNCC Code of Student Responsibility Standards K and L, Library Policy 7.0.1.
13. Bringing weapons into the library. NCGS 14-269.2, UNCC Policy Statement #32, UNCC Code of Student Responsibility Standards B and R.
14. Bringing fireworks into the library. NCGS 14-410, UNCC Code of Student Responsibility Standard R.
