Joyce Burt, Roger Burt, and Danny Wallace were interviewed at the Burts's home in Mount Holly, North Carolina. Mr. Burt was born in Oakland County, Michigan in 1938. Mrs. Burt was raised in Gaston County, North Carolina. Danny Wallace was born in 1926. The Burts and Danny Wallace were employed as farmers.

Joyce Burt, Roger Burt, and Joyce's brother, Danny Wallace, recount the history of the land and the community in Gaston County, North Carolina. They broadly talk about the land and natural environment in their region, including wildlife within the area such as blue herons, paths that they created and maintain in the woods, land conservancy, and cultivating the land on their property for flowers. Other topics include housing and business development, hunting, and sewerage.
