Papers of Charlotte attorney, Benjamin S. Horack, relating to his defense of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education in the landmark case, Swann v. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education, in which the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that busing to achieve racial integration of public schools is constitutional.

This series primarily comprises printed briefs prepared by the defendants and the plaintiffs for presentation to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit in May 1970.
