Dr. Allen Decamp was a 70-year-old man at the time of interview, which took place in his home in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was born in Santa Cruz, California in 1908. He was educated at Davidson College and University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and was employed as an obstetrician and gynecologist.
